favorites on favorites

the following statement is a euphemism: this month marks the one year anniversary of the isabel marant willows, blue tongues, not the ones pictured above. ah yes, it was just about a year ago that your girl quite literally went to the end of the earth to get said coveted foot candy. i'll spare you the gory details, but i will just leave you with the following image: it was a setting-the-alarm-clock-for-the-middle-of-the-night type of predicament. you think i'm exaggerating; alas i am not. oh the things we do for love. all year, the tagline for these precious shoes has alternated between "i swear i'll never need another pair of shoes again!" and "i'll have these for the rest of my life!"
alas, neither proved to be true.

alors, there came a point when i realized heck ya only live once! and i should take the willows out of their carefully erected shrine and actually start wearing the shoes instead of just gawking looking at them. and so i did, and after hundreds of miles and probably just as many photographs of them, my beloved willows are in need of a little tlc. while they're a long long way from even being close to retirement and let's be honest, that would never happen anyway, the worn-down soles were a striking reminder that nothing lasts forever. and so, to make a long story short, homegirl needed to act fast in order to avoid another four day, round the clock international treasure hunt get a(nother) pair of isabel kicks before the waitlist became longer than the great wall of china.

mission accomplished, and euphoria doesn't even begin to cover it. i felt faint when i opened the box. again, not exaggerating.

snapshots: you never need an excuse to wear all your favorites at once. this vintage fur is one of my all-time favorite pieces in my closet, and fittingly, is also from one of my most special vintage spots in the city, starstruck vintage. holla at them here, i promise you they're groovy. expect to see a lot more of this baby. photos by yours truly.
